The analogy

There are times as a single when you can’t help but wonder “will it be this year or next year, will I be single foreverrrr.” When having a conversation with my friend, it came to me. The gift of singleness is like a pregnancy. There is a long wait for this new chapter, sometimes its uncomfortable sometimes you’re fed up but you really hope that your baby doesn’t come before its supposed to. You want it just the way God intended, you hope its healthy and adds to your joy and so on. Even though you want to see the baby and get that part of the journey over with, that hope still remains. Then there are the labour pains which differ for everyone but at the end you have a beautiful product. All you have to do is wait, look after yourself before, during and after the pregnancy and allow for God’s will to be done.
How do we look after ourselves? By loving our selves, loving God and trusting in His providence. Praying without ceasing for peace and contentment, speaking life into our season and being fruitful in it. Be a fruit bearing single, don’t waste these moments, cherish them, one day they’ll be gone.

  1. Hello lizzy, I agree with your submission above. It’s a period most ladies go through. It’s a trying time and a moment where a lot of patiences and prayers are required. My advices is that ladies should not be in a hurry or haste to get through this moment. Bcos, most often than not, when they rush, they take a wrong step and end up in a relationship or marriage that they end up regretting for their life time. I understand the cause for their rush; the biological clock isn’t waiting. But above all, God is in control. (Ade……)port harcourt.
