Day 1 – Bow before the King

PSALM 96 vs 5: Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!

The psalmist uses the words ‘bow’ and ‘kneel’ to depict how God should be approached during worship and implies that worship involves humilty which God loves as we have seen time and time again throughout scripture (example: Psalm 149:4 – For the Lord takes delight in His people, He crowns the humble with victory). Worship then, must be a time of reverence, a moment or series of moments when we put all manner of pride and care for ourselves to the side in order to give God what is due to Him.  Also to bow and kneel before someone is an act of respect, therefore worship is an act of respect. Using this logic along with the former, we can worship God with every single second we are alive by:

Putting our pride to the side in our dealings with people

Fearing God in everything we do

Respecting God by respecting others and so many other ways

Its not until we actually get on our knees that we are worshipping God. Let our walk today be an act of worship.

Challenge yourself today to worship God in your every day life and dedicate atleast one hour each day (or in total each week and then work towards an hour a day) to physically bow and kneel before your Maker.
