Mark 5: 25-34
Who she was
This woman was not named. All we know is that she was bleeding for 12 whole years. She had gone to many doctors, spent all her money but was only getting worse. When all our resources are dried up, faith will always be there. She was a woman of faith and showed that even when millions of people are calling upon the name of God, He cares for us individually.
What she did
This woman cast aside her inhibitions, accepted she was ‘legally unclean’ but trusted that this man called Jesus had so much power that all she had to do was touch His cloak and she would be healed. When she received her healing and Christ was looking for who had touched Him, she could have run away but she didn’t, she shamelessly threw herself at His feet even though she was scared and got confirmation of her faith and healing.
Why she was amazing
This woman was amazing because she did not let her uncleanliness stop her. So many times we stop ourselves from receiving the mercy of Christ because we feel like we have to clean ourselves up but He alone can do that. She had such great faith, she didn’t wait until Jesus was alone or until He prayed for her to know that He was mighty enough to save. Don’t put Christ in a box, explore the boundaries of your faith and He will meet and surpass your expectations. When she received her healing, she did not just leave, when Christ was looking for who had touched Him, she came out although scared, she put herself out there. When God blesses you that is not the end of faithfulness, or diligence, God still has more in store for you, show off what He has done for you.
