us and them

A bit of a rant

When we judge people as ‘irresponsible’ a ‘slag’ a ‘good for nothing’ ‘annoying penticostal’ ‘devil worshipping white garment’ we don’t know why on the outside they may seem like that, we don’t know why that label is part of thier destiny or part of the path they freely chose(or not) yet, when we refuse to be civil towards these people that we see as beneath us when we refuse to want to be associated with these people because of what it could do to our own reputation we are slowly but surely losing the kingdom. Have you ever been in a situation where its ‘them’ and ‘us’ and one day you find out that ‘they’ are actually lovely people and you think to yourself ‘and we werent friends from the start why???’ again I definitely have. Jesus was associated with all types of people, a man born without sin, the king of all kings was associated with prostitutes, thieves, disabled people and all sorts of outcasts. So why can’t we? Its not like we werent born the same way as these ‘tramps’ or ‘thieves’ we all came from and dwell in sin so because we go to church or because we are lucky enough to be able to live in a house or because we dont sleep around, we have a special right to act like we are above everyone else who isnt as priveledged or as wise in particular situations as we are? Sometimes the people that we believe are on the fast track to hell are probably God’s favourites because they have a pure heart or because they are humble, we ‘christians’ that sit there are judge them are probably going to a place we wouldnt like since we are spending so much time shaking our heads and wagging our finger at people.

What brings us together is greater than what seperates us:

We are all brought together by the fact that we are human beings, surely this should be more than enough?
